House panel enters redistricting lawsuit

JACKSON – The House Apportionment and Elections Committee voted today to intervene in a lawsuit regarding the state’s redistricting effort.
The committee hired attorney Rob McDuff to represent its interest in supporting the House-passed plan to redraw that chamber’s districts.
Last week the Mississippi chapter of the NAACP and three other plaintiffs filed suit asking the courts to draw new districts if the Legislature fails to do so this session.
