Houston Board of Aldermen moves toward street repairs

HOUSTON – The Houston Board of Aldermen has approved a bond counsel engagement with the law firm Watkins, Ludlam, Winter and Stennis to begin the processes of issuing $1.5 million in bonds for a multi-tiered street renovation project.
The street project has been an issue for more than a year and the bond issue will allow the board to move forward with repairs.
Public Works Director Ricko Nichols told the board the streets in need of repair will be taken on a case-by-case basis to determine the extent of repair. Nichols said some of the targeted roads may need rebuilding while others may only need a reseal.
