Houston High School band concert May 12

HOUSTON – The Houston High School Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble will be presenting a special outdoor concert on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Brigance Park in Houston. The performance is free and open to the public. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
The 70-member Concert Band will perform a wide range of entertaining music by preeminent composers. The band’s repertoire consists of music from the Renaissance up to the present day, ranging from serious symphonic band works to music from the Twilight soundtrack and a medley of hits from Earth, Wind, and Fire.
The Jazz Ensemble will perform various styles of jazz, from traditional standards to up-tempo swing- with emphasis on improvising.
If inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Houston High School Auditorium, just across the street from the park.
