Hunt winners get free trip to Big Easy

TUPELO – Clear wits and a knowledge of downtown should help in Tupelo Symphony Orchestra’s latest fundraiser.
The Hunt Downtown on Thursday will be a scavenger hunt, where teams of up to four players will attempt to solve seven clues for fun and prizes.
“We wanted to put the ‘fun’ in fundraiser,” said Sally Kepple, event chairwoman. “We’d like to see some young people involved who might be hoping to win the trip for four to New Orleans.”
The trip is the top prize. Second-place finishers will win four tickets to the Elvis Presley Festival, four tickets to a symphony performance and four pairs of OSO earrings designed by Tupelo’s own Kelly Irwin Senter. Third prize is appetizers for eight from Mrs. Robinson’s catering
Call (662) 842-8433 to sign up. It’s $100 for each team.
The teams will gather at the GumTree Museum of Art between 5 and 6 p.m. to pick up the clues. The hunt will take place between 6 and 7 p.m.
It should be noted that TSO will not be able to get you out of any traffic citations incurred during the event, so keep it safe.
If the hunt and the prizes don’t interest you, drop by the museum anyway. A $20 ticket will cover heavy hors d’oeuvres by Mrs. Robinson’s, and there will be a cash bar.
“Come and have a good time and do something that you don’t get to do in Tupelo,” Kepple said. “It’s a new event, and maybe you can win a really neat trip to New Orleans.”
