More ice could hit north Mississippi

djournal-weather-winterJACKSON (AP) – Authorities say parts of the Delta and north Mississippi could see more icy conditions overnight Monday and into Tuesday morning.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says in a news release that residents in those areas should prepare.

The National Weather Service is forecasting up to one tenth of an inch of ice accumulation, which could cause power outages as well as dangerous driving conditions on roads, bridges and overpasses until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Crews continued working Monday to restore power to some customers in those areas after a weekend ice storm.
