Illinois woman charged in robbery

NEW ALBANY – A woman was not injured in an armed robbery at her home Monday morning.

A 76-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint at her home on Butler Avenue in New Albany, said investigator Chris Glasson.

Police spotted the suspect’s vehicle “less than 10 minutes” later, and arrested Alexandria Meadows, 40, of Rockville, Ill. Meadows was charged with armed robbery and her bond was set at $100,000.

Glasson said the victim noticed Meadows watching her as she left a supermarket and followed her home.
