TUPELO – The back of a Tupelo home is badly damaged after a fire on Monday afternoon.

Tupelo Fire Department responded to a house fire at 442 North Spring St. at 12:12 p.m. Monday, said Bill Wardlaw with the fire department.

All inside made it out and no one was injured.

The fire is still under investigation, and it’s unclear where or how the fire started.

It was a duplex, Wardlaw said, so one side suffered smoke damage while the back end of the other side could be a total loss.

Heavy smoke flowed from the house’s attic, and the back end of the green house was burned.

Tupelo Water & Light crews were on the scene to cut power to the house.
