Insurance commissioner puts department on Internet
Mississippians who have questions about their insurance and want to know how the state can help can now search the Internet for answers.
The Mississippi Insurance Department now has its own “home page” on the Internet that explains the agency’s basic functions to users.
The page’s Universal Resource Locator address is http://www.DOI.state.ms.us, according to Mississippi Insurance Commissioner George Dale.
As the technological capabilities of state government are upgraded, the department plans to expand its Internet capabilities with the goal of streamlining department operations wherever possible and distributing information to consumers and the insurance industry more efficiently.
“We want to take full advantage of technological advancements wherever we can to make it as easy as possible for Mississippians to communicate with their insurance department,” Dale said.
