Interim Alcorn school board member won't seek election

CORINTH — Dale Bain told the Alcorn School District board that he will not seek permanent election.

The Daily Corinthian reports he made the announcement at the board’s meeting earlier this week.

Bain, 44, was appointed to the seat on an interim basis after his mother, board member Peggy Bain, died last January.

Bain said he will serve out the remainder of the year, but will not run in the November special election called to fill the remainder of his mother’s term.
