FULTON – An Itawamba County man is facing drug and firearms charges following his arrest on Friday.

Ricky Steele, 53, was arrested at his home on Otto Forrest Road in the Salem community, according to Sheriff Chris Dickinson,

Dickinson said deputies went to Steele’s home in response to a report that Steele caused thousands of dollars in damage to some logging equipment after he was fired from his job on Wednesday.

During the investigation, evidence was recovered which lead deputies to issue a search warrant for Steele’s home.

According to Dickinson, numerous marijuana plants were found growing inside the home, in addition to several loaded firearms being found.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms has been contacted about the case.

Steele is being charged with enhanced charges of manufacturing marijuana with a firearm present and malicious mischief.

He is currently being held without bond in the Itawamba County jail.
