Iuka division awarded Air Force contract

IUKA – A major defense contractor with operations in Iuka has announced a $178 million contract award for a U.S. Air Force rocket component system.

Allliant Techsystems – ATK – will build large component structures of 13 to 18 feet in diameter and up to 63 feet long that will become part of an Air Force launch vehicle system.

The company employs about 100 people in Iuka, and with the new contract, expects to increase that number. ATK operates in more than 320,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space at Tri-State Commerce Park, and has some of the largest specialized processing equipment of its kind in the United States.

ATK is an aerospace, defense and commercial products company that operates in 22 states, Puerto Rico and internationally.
