Ivy: No expansion if it means tax hike

By NEMS Daily Journal

TUPELO – Lee County District 4 Supervisor Tommie Lee Ivy said Thursday that he opposes the expansion of the Renasant Center for IDEAs if it means raising taxes.
Ivy’s comments came after supervisors, worried about the county’s ability to pay its debts, wavered Monday on plans to add a second building to the business incubator.
At least two other supervisors, Phil Morgan of District 1 and Joe McKinney of District 5, said they would not vote for the project if it would lead to a tax increase.
