TUPELO – JCPenney is spending $1 million to remodel its store inside The Mall at Barnes Crossing.
The remodel will add two new brands and change the look and feel of the store, according to a JCPenney press release.
New carpet and tile will be added. The dressing rooms and bathrooms will be overhauled. And the shoe and fine jewelry departments will be updated.
The remodel will add two shops-within-a-shop – MNG by Mango and Call It Spring.
MNG by Mango is a European collection of contemporary women’s apparel, handbags, accessories and footwear.
Call It Spring is a brand created by The Aldo Group for modern footwear and handbags.
The renovation also includes new fixtures, improved lighting and new signage and graphics for the 64,356-square-foot store. The work is expected to be finished in October.
JCPenney also will add “jcp services,” which the company describes as the place where customers can order, pick up and return jcp.com purchases, complete gift registry transactions and manage their JCP Rewards credit card accounts.
JCPenney opened inside the mall in 1990. The company has been in Mississippi since 1924.
