Judge tosses suit over skirt-wearing ABERDEEN – Crystal N

ABERDEEN – Crystal N. Finnie will appeal her religious bias case against Lee County and Sheriff Jim Johnson, her attorney said Friday.
U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock ruled in favor of Lee County on Thursday and dismissed the jury from the two-day hearing.
Finnie sued the county in 2010, claiming she was fired because her religious beliefs required her to wear a skirt, not pants as the department mandated.
She also claimed her firing came after she filed a federal jobs discrimination complaint.
Lee County denied all her allegations.
Earlier this year, Aycock threw out Finnie’s free-speech, gender and religious bias claims. After hearing testimony, she did the same for the remaining retaliation claim.
