OXFORD – A June 10 trial is set for a Lee County man accused of enticing a minor female for sex.
Matthew Blake Whitt, 24, of Tupelo, faces a two-count federal indictment that he persuaded a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct to make visual depictions and that he used a cellphone to entice her to have sex with him.
The second charge, the document states, would constitute statutory rape and sexual battery if prosecuted under Mississippi law, and creation of child pornography under U.S. law.
He pleaded not guilty and remains free on bond.
Whitt also faces a three-count indictment by a Lee County grand jury charging him with having sex with a minor female.
