Jury decides death penalty for Carrothers

By NEMS Daily Journal

After hearing expert testimony about the defendant’s troubled family background, severe insecurity and inability to anticipate adverse consequences for his actions, a jury of seven men and five women on Friday evening sentenced Caleb Carrothers to death for the July 11, 2009, shooting deaths of Frank Clark and his son Taylor in their Oxford-area home.
The same jury convicted Carrothers on Thursday of two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault in the nonfatal shooting of Tonya Clark, Frank’s wife and Taylor’s mother.
