OXFORD – Police arrested one juvenile Friday and charged him with armed robbery in connection with the robbery of a Coop Deville delivery driver on Tuesday night.
Oxford Police Major James Owens said the individual, age 17, will be charged as an adult. Police are not yet releasing his name as the investigation is continuing.
A driver from the popular chicken wing delivery reported having been called with an order to the University Arbors apartments Tuesday night and was accosted by three black males, who demanded his money and other items. Although the driver reportedly cooperated with the robbers, he was hit with a blunt weapon and was kicked, sustaining injuries that required a brief hospitalization.
Owens said police hope to arrest two more suspects in the case.
