TUPELO – Former White House adviser Karl Rove was at Reed’s on Saturday to sign copies of his memoir, “Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight.”
Rove, who also appeared at a Friday night fundraiser for Sen. Roger Wicker in Tupelo, signed 275 books, said an bookstore employee.
Rove drew a large crowd for the book signing, many wanting to see what was going on.
James Carnathan purchased the book and said he was very impressed with Rove coming to Tupelo for a book signing.
“I’m not into politics, but I thought is was cool that he came here for a book signing,” said Carnathan. “Karl Rove is a big deal in this country so it’s good to know that Tupelo is a place that is known outside of Mississippi.”
Media access to the signing was restricted by his publisher, Simon amp& Schuster.
Rove was senior adviser and deputy chief of staff to former President George W. Bush and is credited with fashioning Bush’s successful election strategies, first as Texas governor and then as president.
He currently appears on Fox News as an analyst and contributor and writes a column for The Wall Street Journal.
