Lafayette County inmate escapes

OXFORD – An inmate awaiting trial escaped from Lafayette County early Friday afternoon.
“Approximately 2 p.m., a white male, Albert William Bagwell, walked away from a work detail and has not been seen since,” said Alan Wilburn, an investigator with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. “He was incarcerated, awaiting trial on grand larceny.”
Bagwell, 27, who is from Oxford, is 6 feet tall, weighs 120 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, Wilburn said. Anyone with knowledge of Bagwell’s location should call the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department at (662) 234-6421.
