Lafayette County man sentenced for tax fraud

OXFORD – Samuel Miller of Lafayette County will begin a 21-month sentence June 17.
Miller pleaded guilty last January to one count of a two-count indictment accusing him of filing two fraudulent federal income tax returns claiming refunds totaling $140,829.
The 50-year-old was sentenced April 23 by U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock.
She also ordered him to pay $139,757 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service, which also conducted
