Law school to host panel on health care

OXFORD – Representatives of the major stakeholders in the health care reform debate will have a panel discussion Thursday at the University of Mississippi Law School.
The event, presented by the law school’s Student Health Law Association, will be in Moot Court 1 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public and a reception will follow.
Panel participants represent the perspectives of insurance, physicians, small business and hospitals. They include state Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney; Dr. Randy Easterling, Mississippi State Medical Association president; Gerard Gibert, CEO of Venture Technologies; and Gerald Wages, executive vice president for external affairs, North Mississippi Health Services.
The moderator will be Andy Taggart, an attorney, political strategist and author.
