Learn history from the top of a bus in Oxford

OXFORD – The Oxford Convention and Visitors Bureau will begin a spring series of Double Decker bus tours around Oxford and the University of Mississippi on Saturday.
The tours are scheduled on weekends with special events such as the Ole Miss Red/Blue football game and the university’s graduation. Historian Jack Lamar Mayfield will provide narration. The Double Decker bus will depart from Skipwith Cottage next to City Hall on the Square.
The route includes North and South Lamar, the L.Q.C. Lamar House, St. Peter’s Cemetery, Rowan Oak and several parts of the Ole Miss campus. Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
The spring schedule is as follows: March 5 at 1 p.m., March 19 at 1 p.m., April 2 at 10 a.m., April 16 at 10 a.m. and May 14 at 1 p.m.
