TUPELO – The Lee County Jail soon will have monitors with scrolling advertisements for area bail bondsmen and attorneys.
Recommended by Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson and approved by the Board of Supervisors on Monday, a private company will provide monitors in the jail’s lobby and booking area.
Johnson said the agreement with a private company will involve display of jail rules and policies to people arrested and those visiting the facility. The monitors will not cost anything to the county.
“This will help eliminate clutter of papers posted on the walls,” Johnson said.
Attorneys and bail bondsmen who advertise on the monitors must be approved by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Johnson said.
