TUPELO – The Lee County School Board approved a change to the district’s elementary grading scale during its regular meeting on Thursday.
The board approved a policy that would switch from a 10-point grading scale to an eight-point one for kindergarten to fifth-grade students. Lee County middle and high schools will remain on a 10-point scale.
The board had given initial approval to the change earlier this month and gave its final approval on Thursday.
For elementary-schoolers, 92 to 100 will be an ‘A,’ 83 to 91 a ‘B,’ 75 to 82 a ‘C,’ 70 to 74 a ‘D’ and below 70 an ‘F.’
