Lafayette High School quarterback Jeremy Liggins announced Monday night that he is signing with LSU before a packed house at Iries on the Square in Oxford.
Liggins grabbed an LSU helmet on the table in front of him and said, “Go Tigers, Baby.” His final five schools were LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn and Alabama.
Liggins (6-foot-3, 270) is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 16 dual-threat quarterback in the nation, the No. 7 prospect in Mississippi. He led Lafayette to back-to-back Class 4A titles and undefeated seasons.
The announcement was a verbal commitment. Players can sign with schools on Wednesday, which is National Signing Day.
