TUPELO – Link Centre’s evolution – including new offices, lobby area and a peek at changes to come – was on display Thursday.
The facility, formerly home to Harrisburg Baptist Church, purchased the east wing of the building from the Girl Scouts earlier this year.
Since then, Link Centre’s team has been renovating the wing’s 15,000 square feet, opening new office spaces, creating a lobby space and opening a new venture, bizLink. Link Centre hosted an open house to show off the changes on Thursday.
“We have a new main entrance, and we’re excited about having a lobby adjacent to the concert hall and main offices,” said Link Centre’s director of operations, Derek Russell.
The main entrance is at the glass foyer on the east side, which includes the new office of the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.
Visitors toured an early vision of what’s to come with bizLink, which will take up the east wing’s second floor.
Russell said bizLink “is creating new working communities” and it will offer shared and private office space for professionals. “We’re taking the coffee shop-laptop community to a new level.”
The lobby soon will be renovated with bizLink set to open this fall.
Shawn Brevard, Link Centre’s board president, said she’s excited the facility will be more patron-friendly with its new entrance, lobby and opportunities.
“We’re always looking for ways to be good stewards of this campus, focused on the significant history and position in this neighborhood,” she said. “We very much want the community to value this property.”
