TUPELO – Four Aberdeen residents paid to clean and haul trash to the dump were arrested Monday for allegedly tossing the debris in the road instead.
Develant McMillian 34; Anderson Lorenzo Ealy, 44; Anderson Strong, 22; and McLathan Morrow 36, were arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and charged with littering.
Their bonds were set at $517 each, but all remained in custody at the Monroe County Detention Center as of Monday afternoon, said Tanya L. Powell, the department’s spokeswoman.
“A person had paid them to clean up a home being foreclosed on and being remodeled,” Powell said. “They took the money, and instead of taking the trash where they were supposed to, they dumped it in the roadway and the ditches. He even paid them mileage.”
