Longtime Lee County judge Grubbs dies

TUPELO – Longtime Justice Court Judge Mayo Grubbs died Saturday night of congestive heart failure.
Grubbs, 75, was District 5 justice court judge for at least 28 years and a barber by trade.
According to Rep. Steve Holland, Grubbs was “the dean of justice court judges in Mississippi.” Grubbs also authored the “Mayo Manual,” a guide for justice court judges.
Grubbs was born and raised in Shannon and was still living on the land he was born on. Funeral arrangements were incomplete Saturday night.
