COLUMBUS — The trial of George Strickland, charged in the shooting death of a Steens man, has been postponed until the December term of Lowndes County Circuit Court.
The Commercial Dispatch reports Strickland has been charged with murder in the January shooting death of 36-year-old Christopher Wayne George. Strickland is also charged with aggravated assault with a weapon for allegedly shooting at George’s wife, Patricia.
Prosecutors say George had been shot multiple times. Strickland was arrested at a local body shop.
Court records show both the defense and prosecution asked Circuit Judge Jim Kitchens for a continuance so they could have more time to prepare for trial.
Strickland remains in custody at the Lowndes County jail. He has been denied bond.
