McHENRY — A father and his son are in jail after one is accused of shooting the other in a fight, which police said involved drugs.

Stone County sheriff’s investigators arrested 56-year-old Samuel D. Sexton and charged him with aggravated assault. He’s accused of shooting his son on Easter morning at his home in McHenry.

After an extensive search, police later arrested 25-year-old William Andrew Sexton of Gulfport, who was wounded in the shoulder and head by a single shotgun blast.

Police say the elder Sexton also was charged with possession of hazardous materials related to a methamphetamine lab. The younger Sexton was charged with a parole violation from a previous drug case.

Both are being taken in the Stone County jail.
