OXFORD — Brian Roussel was enjoying a quiet evening watching TV when a car smashed into his house in Oxford and hit the couch he was sitting on.
The Oxford Eagle reports that neither Roussel nor the driver was injured in the Monday night mishap.
Oxford Police Chief Mike Martin says the driver, from Grenada, was traveling north when the car struck the curb on the right of Anchorage Road. The driver took a hard left and the car jumped the road’s left curb, continuing through the yard. It stopped after crashing into the living room.
Roussel says he’s happy he had a sturdy couch.
Martin said the driver was arrested, but neither the police department nor Lafayette County jail officials would release the driver’s name to The Associated Press.
