Mantachie health clinic wants to add services

MANTACHIE – Mantachie Rural Health Care has turned to Itawamba County supervisors for help adding dental and physical therapy services, but the board wants to mull over its options before making a decision.
Mantachie Rural Health Care CEO Missy Sheffield and CFO Patsy Collins appeared before the Itawamba County Board of Supervisors recently to request the remaining $6,700 of a $20,000 in-kind loan be abated.
This money, which equates to about five years worth of monthly payments, will be used to help make renovations to the clinic’s original location on Highway 363, which currently is not being used.
That building is owned by the county and is being leased to Mantachie Rural Health Care.
The clinic was recently relocated to a new, larger facility.
