MANTACHIE – Officials are moving forward on a project that will bring sewer service to more areas of Mantachie.
During last week’s regular meeting of the town’s board of aldermen, Mantachie officials voted to advertise for bids on Phase 1 of a project that will provide sewer service to households on Sonny’s, Mt. Pisgah and Mantachie-Shiloh roads.
Once the project is completed, a total of 25 to 30 houses should receive sewer service.
The project, which is broken into three phases, will involve the installation of new sewer lines and pumping stations. The estimated cost is about $300,000.
