MANTACHIE – Effective Oct. 1, the town’s sewer rate will increase for the first time in 30 years.
Going up are the cost of usage per 1,000 gallons and the cap-off amount in which charges stop will go up, and there will be a decrease in the minimum water usage charge.
The increase will make the average customer’s bill increase about $2 each month. Officials estimate the new rates will generate an additional $12,000 in revenue each year, which will be used to bolster the town’s water account.
