McRae involved in railroad lawsuit

TUPELO – Former state Supreme Court Justice Chuck R. McRae has signed on to represent Helen and Jerry Gable in their $6.3 million railroad damages lawsuit.
In November 2009, the Gables sued Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Co., and two of its crewmembers. They claim the defendants’ negligence caused an Oct. 15, 2006, accident at a Tupelo rail crossing and severely injured Mrs. Gable.
The Gables’ first attorney, Roy O. Parker of Tupelo, asked for a federal jury trial.
During the course of the lawsuit, Parker admitted his inexperience with railroad cases and asked the court for time to find more legal help.
