MDOT to install "all-way stop" in Plantersville

JACKSON – The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announces the following traffic information to motorists traveling in the vicinity of Plantersville on Highway 6 in Lee County.

On Monday, December 12, 2011, at 10 a.m. an “ALL-WAY STOP” will be installed at the intersection of Highway 6 and Central Street in Plantersville, Mississippi. Currently, only the Central Street traffic stops at this intersection so the installation of an “ALL-WAY STOP” is a significant change for motorists traveling on Highway 6.

“Motorists should pay close attention to the traffic change and adjust accordingly,” District Engineer Bill Jamieson said. “By being observant, motorists can help to ensure that the transition goes smoothly and safely. The change should help traffic flow more efficiently at this intersection.”

This intersection was studied for additional traffic control measures at the request of the City of Plantersville.
