TUPELO – North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo has received the green light for its $55.1 million West Bed Tower expansion and renovation.
The state Department of Health announced Thursday that it had approved a certificate of need for the hospital project, which will remake 250 of the hospital’s oldest and smallest rooms.
A certificate of need is required for large health care projects.
Work likely will begin in the late spring or summer. The new tower should be complete in 20 to 24 months. The west wing will be renovated in two phases, each taking about a year.
