A seminar on tobacco use has been moved to a larger location due to popular demand.
“Treating the Tobacco User” for health care professionals will be offered from 8 a.m. until noon, April 23, at the Lee County Agricenter. The seminar, sponsored by the ACT Center, was originally set to be held at North Mississippi Medical Center.
The program focuses on ways health care providers can encourage their patients to stop using tobacco, provide medical options for smoking cessation and follow up support. The program is free and includes continuing education credits.
The ACT Center is affiliated with the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is funded through a grant from the Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi.
