OXFORD — A federal judge has ordered a psychiatric evaluation for a man charged with armed carjacking and stealing numerous guns from a store in the Mississippi Delta.

John Buie is charged with carjacking a man in Greenville on March 17. He’s also charged with stealing guns from The Sportsman in Greenville the same day.

Buie was indicted March 20 in U.S. District Court in Oxford.

Buie’s attorney, George Lucas, asked for the evaluation. Lucas says Buie has a long history of mental health treatment and was recently in an automobile accident that may have exacerbated the condition.
