JACKSON — A change of leadership is expected soon in the Mississippi Republican Party.
Brad White, the party’s chairman and executive director, says he’ll leave both positions to run for Simpson County chancery clerk.
White said Friday that he and Gov. Haley Barbour are supporting longtime Republican Arnie Hederman for both posts.
White says the state Republican executive committee will meet Feb. 3 to vote on the appointments.
The executive directorship is a paid position. The chairmanship is unpaid.
