Miss. woman killed in crash on Ark. interstate

TYRONZA, Ark. — Arkansas State Police say an 82-year-old woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash in northeastern Arkansas.

State police say the crash happened Friday on Interstate 55 near the 35 mile marker in Mississippi County. State police say Earlene French of Coldwater, Miss., lost control of her pickup truck and crashed into a tree.

State police say French’s truck burst into flames after hitting the tree. A passenger was injured and taken to The Med in Memphis, Tenn.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
