BOONEVILLE – A child missing for several hours this afternoon has been found safe, and the two kidnapping suspects were taken into custody by New Albany police.

Booneville police Chief Michael Ramey said 2-year-old Addison McGuire was taken from her day care, Mary’s Little Lamb, about 2:45 p.m., allegedly by her birth parents.

The child was in custody of the Mississippi Department of Human Services, and after Booneville police issued an alert based on the suspects’ vehicle license number, New Albany police stopped the suspects and took them and the child into custody about 5 p.m., Ramey said.

The child is being returned to DHS custody, and the suspects are being transported to Prentiss County Jail, and they will not be identified until they are back in the county and charged, he said.
