Missing girl returned in Houston

HOUSTON – A Houston girl reported missing has been returned to her home while a man is being held on felony kidnapping charges.
The juvenile was reported missing Aug. 9 after disappearing from her home about 2 a.m. the previous night.
About 3 p.m. that day, the girl and Munoz Basilio, 22, were located and identified by the Pikesville, Tenn., Sheriff’s Department. The juvenile was returned to her home and Basilio was brought to the Chickasaw County Jail where kidnapping charges were filed against him.
“Because she was under 16-years-old, the statute reads that kidnapping charges apply if she is taken from her home against her will or the will of her parents,” said Houston Police officer Dustin Dendy, who worked on the case.
Basilio made his initial appearance before a judge and remains in jail. A bond of $50,000 has been set.
