JACKSON — Law enforcement throughout Mississippi is participating in a crackdown on drunk driving this holiday season.

The “Over the Limit, Under Arrest” campaign began this week.

Public Safety Commissioner Stephen Simpson said Friday in a news release that the Mississippi Highway Patrol will increase manpower and set up checkpoints to stop drunk driving through Jan. 3.

Other agencies also plan to boost efforts to keep drunk drivers off Mississippi roads.
