Mississippi State now at No. 11 in BCS Standings

The Mississippi State football team keeps moving up in the polls and BCS Standings.

MSU is No. 12 in the USA Today coaches college football Top 25 rankings released Sunday, up four spots from last week. The Bulldogs (7-0) comie in at No. 13 in the Associated Press media rankings after beating Middle Tennessee State 45-3 on Saturday.

This Saturday Mississippi State travels to No. 1 Alabama at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in a game to be televised live by ESPN.The Bulldogs were No. 12 in the first BCS rankings released last week. The are No. 11 in the new BCS Standings released Sunday night.

Alabama has run its streak of weeks at No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll to eight, the longest stay atop the rankings by the Crimson Tide.

Alabama received 59 of 60 first-place votes from the media panel. The Tide has twice previously been No. 1 for seven consecutive weeks — in 1979 when Bear Bryant coached ‘Bama to a national title and in 1980 when the Tide finished sixth.
