ABERDEEN – The Monroe County Board of Supervisors has tabled a proposed ordinance dealing with vicious dogs.

The ordinance, proposed by Supervisor Carol Crawford, is not breed-specific but would be enforced on any incident in which a dog attacks people, pets or property.

During a meeting Friday, board members raised questions about how the ordinance would be enforced. They also want to know how the county would pay for an officer to oversee enforcement and the cost of housing animals that are seized.
