Monroe County man jailed after allegedly stabbing his brother in the back

Crime StockEGYPT – One brother is custody and another one has been airlifted to the hospital following a Wednesday afternoon altercation on Old Houston Road in western Monroe County.

“Two brothers got into a fight and Sean Derrick Bailey was stabbed in the back with a butcher knife. The cut was eight to 10 inches deep and he’s in serious condition,” said Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell.

Cory Bailey, 25, of Aberdeen has been charged with aggravated domestic violence. He is currently in MCSO custody and bond has not been set at this time.

Cantrell didn’t know the details of what caused the initial argument and said Cory will be questioned by MCSO authorities.

According to a statement from the MCSO, deputies responded to the call at 12:32 p.m.

A MedEvac helicopter airlifted Corey to North Mississippi Medical Center. The victim’s status is unknown at this time.
