HOLLY SPRINGS – More suspects have been arrested in connection with an April 11 attack in which a Holly Springs man nearly drowned.
Sheriff Kenny Dickerson said Charles Hardeman was pulled, soaking wet, from his truck after he wrecked it in Marshall County. Investigators indicated Hardeman had been tied to an 80-pound statue and thrown into the lake behind his home. He escaped death after the belt holding him to the weight broke.
Ashley Hardeman, 19, of Hurdle Club Road, Holly Springs, was arrested Friday and charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault. She is reportedly Charles Hardeman’s sister.
Alexander Carter, 24, of Saulsbury, Tenn., was arrested Monday on the same charges.
Two suspects – Kevin R. Schrock, 29, of LaGrange, Tenn., and Gregory Leon Jenkins, 31, of Hardeman County, Tenn. – were arrested in late April on similar charges.
Xavier Cornelius Parks, 31, who has the same address as Carter, eluded law enforcement officers on Sunday. The search for Parks is ongoing.
