SALTILLO – Two Saltillo women, a mother and daughter, were arrested Thursday for exploiting a vulnerable adult.

Dorothy Whitmon, 63, of Saltillo, and April Whaley, 24, had their bonds set at $10,000.

The Attorney General’s Office alleges Whitmon, while serving as caretaker for a woman with dementia, took $162,000 from the woman’s accounts and two of the woman’s properties.

The Attorney General’s Office alleges Whaley withdrew about $33,000 from the woman’s bank account for personal use.

Both Whitmon and Whaley bonded out of the Lee County Adult Jail.
