JACKSON – A telethon to raise money for flooding and tornado victims in Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee takes place Saturday.
Rise For Relief will raise money for the American Red Cross.
The telethon will air on more than a dozen stations in Mississippi and Baton Rouge and Memphis. The Mississippi Public Broadcasting is broadcasting the telethon.
Cleanup continues from the tornadoes that devastated swaths of northeast Mississippi in late April and floodwaters along the Mississippi River that have fallen after the river recently reached highs not seen in at least 74 years.
Mississippi Emergency Management Agency spokesman Jeff Rent says lots of people need help.
